HMD Trucking is hiring for an OTR dry van truck driving job in Birmingham and surrounding areas. Our dry van division delivers steady freight, consistent miles, and competitive pay that reflects the effort you put in on the road. If you’re an experienced CDL-A driver seeking strong mileage and reliable OTR work, our Birmingham dry van positions are currently available and ready for qualified drivers.
Drivers earn a base rate of 65 CPM on all dispatched miles, averaging approximately 2,500 miles per week, with no-touch freight.
$2,500 sign-on bonus and generous referral bonuses are paid for every qualified driver you refer.
Additional pay is available for clean DOT inspections and successful completion of the onboarding process.
A supportive operations team and well-maintained, modern equipment help ensure smooth, efficient runs.
About 90% of our fleet is the legendary Peterbilt 579. We also utilize Freightliner’s flagship Cascadia and Volvo trucks.
We offer multiple dry van openings in Birmingham and nearby areas, with positions available year-round.
Valid CDL Class A license
Minimum 1 year of CDL-A OTR experience
No DUI or DWI convictions within the past 5 years
No more than 3 moving violations or 3 preventable accidents
No excessive speeding violations (over 21 mph) in the last 3 years
Applicants must be at least 23 years old at the time of application
65 CPM base rate, with up to 10 CPM in performance-based bonuses
Drivers average approximately 2,500 miles per week
Home every two weeks, supporting a balanced work-life schedule

Clean DOT inspection bonus: $100

Detention pay: $15 per hour after the first 2 hours
Layover pay: $100 for each 24-hour period
Orientation pay: $150
