In comparison, Swift Transportation and U.S. Express Enterprises are just 2 out of 4 large U.S. trucking fleets that said they are not planning to buy or pre-buy trucks for the remainder of 2008 and the all of 2009. Besides the heavy decline in truck sales over these past 16 months, smaller trucking companies have closed there doors as well, but HMD just keeps on trucking. The expense of diesel, repairs, tires, and the daily maintenance of the trucks, HMD Trucking, Inc is feeling their share of the economic stress. On Monday, June 30, 2008, HMD Trucking, Inc welcomed 8 new Volvo sleepers to the company fleet. The 3 representatives from Volvo even drove these trucks straight to our Chicago Ridge Facility.
